Cheltenham based graphics designer

The good ship Floppyhat is currently captained by Jay Jewell, and this one-man-band graphics designer is currently based in Cheltenham, although has been known to venture past the county border.

The name Floppyhat has been around since my days at university, when a couple of friends and I came up with it to headline our multimedia projects. Many many years on, and the name is reborn, bigger, faster, and with slightly less garish colours.

From 1996 until early 2007, I worked for a small Cheltenham-based software company as their graphics designer and webmaster. I started out designing new media for their development team, before moving into marketing a few years later to look after all the company's graphics. In 2001 the company moved from Cheltenham over to new offices in Gloucester, and with this saw me take on the extra role of looking after the company's website.

In the Summer of 2007 I decided it was time to take that 11 year's worth of experience and go it alone, and here I am.

What can I do for you that the million and one other web and graphics designers can not? Well, it seems to me that everyone and their dog is offering to build you a website these days, or with the advent of great software like Adobe Photoshop design you something - but you only have to look at their own websites to realise very few of them actually seem to do it well.

Now as Floppyhat is the new kid on the block, my portfolio of work comes from my years in my former job - but this should give you an idea of the quality you can expect to receive.
